Miyagi Japanese restaurant on Kajang
There is a new japanese restaurant in Kajang Prima. Miyagi restaurants have a branch in Bandar Baru Bangi & I had some lunches there. They serve good original Japanese dishes and is frequented by locals & expatriates who love Japanese dishes. Now I can look forward to the same authentic Japanese dishes in Kajang as well !

About Petronas, competitive foreign & bumiputera companies for tender.....
Here is an interesting article , from KCLau.com, about Petronas CEO getting critised for not favouring bumiputera companies, despite the fact RM74billion worth of contracts given to these companies in 2010 & 2011.
Ungrateful? What do you think?
One thing for sure , competitiveness is always good for both sides, it leads to better innovation and improved value added services. The entrance of Airasia , for example, in my opinion, competed directly with MAS & forced it to rethink strategy and its services .

The last days of Yaohan mall....
Well, looks like the once famous Yaohan mall or "The Mall" or Putra Place will have major renovation from this May , will stay closed till completion in 2015. It will change into a upper class lifestyle/entertainment mall.
My family used to go there when we were little, dropping by for lunch whenever we came to PWTC. And enjoyed those rides at the mini theme park there........:-).
I am gonna miss Yaohan . My memories of its heydays in the 80s & 90s will live on ......

Average monthly income in Malaysia grew 7.2% for 2012
The government declared 7.2% increase in monthly average income for 2012 based on 44,000 respondents.
Personally I think this is seriously wrong, considering the fact that the articles mention govt stat show monthly income is now RM5,000 after the 7.2% increase......

My climb to Broga Hill - 23/Aug/2012
I was on one week company leave, so I suddenly decided on last Thursday to climb Broga Hill alone. Been thinking of it for the past few weeks.
Things to bring along for the hike:
a. Mineral water
b. Isotonic drink
c. Portable First aid kit
d. Camera (of course !) or smartphone camera
e. Sports shoes (make sure the track is not worn out)
Things I did not bring (but should have):
a. Camera tripod (short or long type also OK)
b. Small Towel
c. Torchlight (in case it started raining, or become dark suddenly)
d. Extra pair of clothes ( sweat a lot , clothes get wet )
e. Hiking stick or any long stick ( can help the climb up )
f. Energy bar (Snickers!) & tea to enjoy when reach the top
g. Climbing gloves (optional)
h. Raincoat ?
I reached the hill area at 4.15pm. I parked my car at a palm oil estate. There was 3 other cars parked, so they may be some people already on the hill. I started my trek on a dusty path from the palm oil estate to the hill .
There were no specific directions to the top of the hill. The trek up was scary as the path was going into forest area , had deep trenches and was very narrow at some areas. And I was trekking alone ! 8-O
Lots of tall grass I would say. You cannot stay long at one place, as mosquitos would come in dozens to feast on you. Also, I was afraid of snakes ( green snakes which you cannot see among green grass) resting on these overhead branches and tall grass.
I did not encounter any wild animals ( which is good !). I did encounter some weird plants and vines, some looking like snakes, and some having spiky fruits.
It took me about an hour to reach the first summit of Broga Hill. Broga hill had 4 summits , 3 of them visible, the last highest summit is hidden under thick tree foliage.
I had a some company as a family was coming down the hill.
The final climb to the summit was very steep (about 45 degrees inclination) and rocky, having good shoes was a plus point.
Slipping and falling down here can be very painful , even dangerous! Fortunately there was some steps made from rock & soil to help the climb.
When I reached the first summit , it was windy. The weather was cloudy and not very hot. Can see all of Semenyih and some parts of Kajang. I was able to see Genting Highlands on the north side of the hill. I rested here to catch up my breath, being a couch potato , it is a big hurdle reaching the top.
I went to the second summit, and the view was about the same for me. This was enough for me. I decided to go down and forget about the third summit.
Goin down the steep terrain near the summit was a challenge! I slipped several times. I had to lie down and climb down slowly. At one time I almost fell. But I was able to get over it. The rest of the journey down was easy.
Once I reached my car , I was sore and tired. But it was a good climb !
I may come back here again, next time with my family and friends !

My ChocoBlog, Saturday night
Decided to have a ChocoBlog for the night. Wanted to try how it tastes like. Bought at the Blog stall at Kajang Metropoint.
Tasted OK but a bit too sweet. The choco tastes like cooking chocolate. But overall I prefer Starbucks, more choco taste and milkier.

Collections...
Everyone has some kind collection, be it stamps, photos, leaves....
I used to collect news clippings and comics back in the 1990s.....
I still keep them....
How about you?
